  We purchased our home in January 2022 in El Cajon (moving from Ventura County). After seeing our summer electric bills, decided we needed to add solar. I did some research on Google and Yelp and found 4 companies to request quotes. Kelly scheduled a video meeting with us within a few days. We were very please with her presentation, knowledge, and professionalism. She was very clear with what to expect in the process, timelines, etc. She took her time to answer our questions and make sure we had a very clear understanding on how the system would work, the tax rebate, and the NEM 2 vs 3.   Smart Solar was a great decision for my parents' house. Yash was responsive and explained what to look for in solar contractors. I appreciated his transparency.   We started discussing with Kelly from Smart Solar about possible solar options. Very detailed, clear, and articulate in conversations. Once we decided to go ahead, the whole team (in basecamp) - that is what is the messaging portal - was super responsive and helpful. Every question was answered clearly and every effort was made to ensure the progress is smooth. We did this during COVID, but I never felt any impact. I am sure the installation crew worked really hard and our special thanks to them. The whole team - the installers, the technicians, the admin staff, were professional and courteous.

  Smart solar came to tell me about their solar....they beat the others in price and professionalism. They guaranteed a functional solar system in 60 days or less. DONE! VERY nice workmen...cleaned up each day they were here. Very safety conscious, did not hurt my plants or garden either. Cost was exactly what they quoted, with no hidden cost.They even assisted when So Cal Edison kept billing me, and found out why ( So Cal Edison fault). Excellent company. I can see how every panel is producing energy every minute. I also love the microconverter....no worries about 1 panel knocking out the entire system. 5 stars plus!

  We have our Solar PV System designed and installed by Smart Solar Design. Everything started with a call / meeting with Kelly – with the help of shared video / presentation materials. Kelly was one of most pleasant, helping, and informative salespersons I have dealt with. She takes special attention that her customers understand what they are looking for and helps them decide the system that is most suitable, but economical – for now and future. She makes sure we understand what we are getting as a final product – All pros & cons are explained and hence there are no surprises. And, she arranges financing with two options for us to pick – again with everything explained very clearly.

  After comparing solar companies, we decided to go with Smart Solar because of their tier-1 panels and the amount of kilowatts they would produce. Dr. Lloyd Mills, the owner of the company and a neighbor in Park Village, came to our house to explain everything about the system and the number of panels required according to our past 12 months of electrical usage. Since we own an electric car, we knew that we need more solar panels. The installation was seamless and evenly placed on the roof not to be an eyesore. Upon starting, it was completed in one week and passed SDG&E inspection the next week. It has a great app for monitoring the system's daily production of kilowatts. Steve, who mostly installed the system, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The project manager and the staff of Smart Solar were very courteous and helpful during the entire installation. We are very pleased with their service and highly recommend this company.

  We made the mistake of calling a few Solar companies only to find that they would bombard us with calls. Went on Nextdoor I believe and saw all the good reviews with Smart Solar so we called them. The owner of the company came over in a no pressure visit, went over our needs, showed all the cheap and expensive options, made recommendations, etc. Not one sales call from the company while we were thinking about it. Once we moved forward, they were on time, worked the entire time, were professional, etc. We had poor experiences with contractors in the past, but these guys are legit. I honestly would only recommend Smart Solar if you are serious about getting solar.

  The employees at Smart Solar Design Construction did a very professional job on our solar system. We had our solar installed at the beginning of October, and everything is running great.   Excellent service from the beginning to the end of the task. The design proposal was professionally done and communication was easy via email or text. The price proposal was very reasonable comparing with two other companies I have obtained the quote from; especially they are providing the better panels and inverter.   Loved working with Smart Solar. From start to finish they exhibited true professionalism and genuine knowledge of how to add solar to our home. We were very concerned about putting holes in our perfectly good roof so we asked our roofer to explain to us the best way to do it and that is exactly how Smart Solar does it on every home they do! In addition, we had our roofer review their work when they were done and he thought it was great. We love the microinverters and being able to see what we are producing every moment right from our smart phones. I was super impressed with how they handled the city inspectors requests and that they showed up early and stayed after to make sure all of our questions were answered. I would recommend Smart Solar if you are looking to get solar put on your home. I have heard horror stories and seen work from other contractors and not one part of my experience was negative with Smart Solar. They are who you want to choose.

  Smart Solar installed a system on our roof in January. We are more than pleased with the results. All of the employees we came in contact with were professional and the service was excellent.   Lloyd and his crew (Gage, Gretchen, Adrian and Trevor) really did a great job. The service they've provided was excellent. We can say that we are very happy with the job. If you are looking to go solar go with Smart Solar Construction .You can trust that they will not try to upsell you, (these days that's hard to find). Lloyd is knowledgeable and will get answers to your questions quickly. Their service is exceptional from start to finish. Our overall experience was wonderful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  Hiring SmartSolar was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Even though they work on a roof, they were clean and professionally dressed. The entire staff was friendly and eager to be helpful. I did not worry about my property because they were careful and protective. They have their own port-a-potty so that we didn't have to provide restroom facilities. Best of all, their communication between each other is superb. We have turtles in our backyard and requested that they watch their step and keep the gate closed at all times. Whenever a new employee would show up I would go out to remind them and they already new about the turtles. Finally, their foreman (for lack of a better word), Gage, demonstrated all these traits and more. We requested that the conduit be painted and he did it himself. His painting skills demonstrated an attention to detail and patience. He had to prime and paint with a week in-between. He is personable and conscientious. I suspect all the employees rise to the same caliber. I am so pleased, I wish they provided other services like building a block wall, laying hardwood floor, installing crown molding, etc. etc. LOL!

  After 4-5 bids from other solar company, we ended up with Smart Solar. We did re-roof (replaced 40 lbs fiberglass underlayment, fixed plywood, fascia, starter board where needed, applied new flashing, power wash roof tiles), and installed new solar panels, painted all flashings and other parts to best match the color of the house. Smart Solar Construction gave the most competitive price AND customer service was awesome! The roof people who came (Cesar, Walter, Evert, and more) were excellent and very detailed oriented. The roof team really spent their time explaining each step to ensure customer satisfaction, our family really appreciated that. After the solar were installed, Gage came on to ensure everything is working properly and also instructed me how to view the solar production on internet. Gage was very fast at replying questions (text/calls), which we really appreciated.

  I almost didn't make the move to get solar as it was borderline whether or not it made sense for me. Aaron of Smart Solar Construction of SoCal presented an option very close to being even for me. I figured, if it protects me from increases in the future, a few extra dollars a month now was worth it. As soon as the contract was signed, Lloyd was very prompt in sending a personal message outlining what I should expect. Being a detail oriented, methodical person, I appreciated knowing what to expect. Gage reached out and touched base as to the timeline expectation. He met with me to discuss my installation concerns about visibility and HOA guidelines. His team of installers, in particular Stephen and Parris, were professional and easy to talk to/work with. I feel they accommodated my requests and left my home with a tight installation and clean job.

  We are officially off Sempra Energy's grid, and I couldn't be more please with this company. Everyone was really friendly, knowledgeable and professional. From start to finish and getting off the grid ...11 days!! Unbelievably fast!! Herald, our sales person, was terrific!! He helped customized a system that worked for us. He had a wealth of Solar information, never pressured us, and made the process easy to get a low interest loan once we made the decision to use Smart Solar. I felt complete confidence with Jeff and Raul, the installers, abilities and could trust them with the job. But Gage was the best!! He was Incredibly knowledgeable and savvy with Over and above customer service!! He always kept us in the loop of the process, answered every questioned I had, connected us with the app that monitors our Solar, he painted our wall, helped me sort out the circuit panel, and was totally prepared for the inspection which expedited the process. Within the hour of inspection I was off the grid and my meter was going backwards...He was there every step of the way. Thank you Smart Solar for your wonderful professional customer service, and for making the process easy. Everyone was terrific...Highly recommend!!

  I could not recommend Smart Solar Construction more, literally, I have told everyone I know about them. My experience: I set up an appointment at a local fair, emailed my SDG&E bill to the rep, had him come out, he explained everything in thorough detail and was completely transparent on pricing and products. I wanted to go forward that day but told the rep I wanted to get more bids. He completely understood and after getting bids from other outfits I called him back (916-281-8509). Because he was transparent on everything I was able to compare pricing and products and Smart Solar Construction was by far the best value and it was not even close.

  Another satisfied customer! Dr. Lloyd is extremely knowledgable, professional, personable and he has assembled a great team that share those attributes. They were patient as I explored several options for financing, they were on time, they delivered on what they promised and more. Lloyd and Gage were available to text or call anytime during the process and they made sure things went smooth. My only regret is I didn't call them sooner!

  Smart Solar were great, they helped me plan my system, overcome design and planning issue and got me up and running with Solar. Lloyd and his team were very professional, quick and managed the worksite really well, leaving it clean and tidy at the end of each day and the end of the job. Really important with small kids running around the place. Definitely the place to get your solar from.

  We used Smart Solar for our PV system and couldn't be happier. Lloyd and his team worked to get the panels in in less than 2 weeks and producing power! Lloyd helped us sift through the hype and pick a system right for our needs. His team was always professional and courteous and left the site clean. I have known Lloyd for 15 years or more and that is why when it came time to buy my solar system, I went with someone I could trust. I was not disappointed.
