In a recent feature article published in the Spring 2017 edition of Santee Magazine, Raceway Electric & Solar founder Eddie Dombo shared insights about passing the family business leadership to his son Mike after two decades at the helm.
"It's hard to believe it's been 20 years," Eddie remarked wryly, acknowledging the trials and triumphs of managing a family business.
Eddie reflected on the twenty-year journey, recalling how they moved from New York to San Diego in 1989. Eddie felt San Diego was the right place to raise his family with his wife and three teenagers. He started his business in 1993, setting up an office in his garage. The first thing he did was printed out his business model and tape it to the wall above his desk.

    Kudos to Raceway Electric & Solar who were very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. They were quick to respond and prompt showing up at the appointed time for the assessment for the work I wanted done - which I find to be a challenge these days with other companies. I had several projects I needed done which included providing an outdoor two separate electrical outlets, creating lighting and electrical outlets in an existing shed and providing power to an outdoor fountain with an on/off switch. When Mike, the owner, came by to give me an estimate.
