  After all our research into solar companies and meeting with several of them, we chose Magic Sun. The installation went very smooth in July of 2021. This July we were going to experience our first true-up and I was nervous because we didn't limit our use of AC or other electricity. To my surprise, we actually received a credit on our true-up. Oscar is excellent at figuring out the amount of solar panels to get the best results. He also advised us to trim trees that shade panels.

  This review is 5 star worthy, this company was really amazing getting our solar installed in a timely manner (minus all the hiccups with the city etc) I especially want to give 5 stars to Neil Hurlock, he was especially helpful through this whole process and responsive to my e-mails to get our lender to fund the loan. While our lender was very unresponsive, and not helpful Neil stepped up and got everything we needed taken care of. I'm glad we have Solar now as well. Definitely recommend this company to anyone!

  We had several quotes for solar and Magic Sun was the most reasonable. Others told us we needed a new pump and Chad told us in his experience that wasn't necessary. They are super nice and it was done quickly and works amazing! I've since recommended them to other friends and they were very happy as well! 10/10 recommend.

  This company is amazing. Very quick to respond. We met with both Neil and Chad regarding house and pool solar. Both were very helpful and very knowledgeable. Neither tried to sell us anything we didn't need. In fact, they were very honest about advising us against spending money where the return would not be appreciable. Such integrity!! We very much appreciated their professionalism, ethics, extensive knowledge, and the thoroughness they were willing to devote to our anticipated projects.

  We had solar installed recently by Magic Sun Solar and could not be happier. We received multiple offers when shopping around initially. Magic Sun stood out above the rest with the best offer and best customer service. We worked with Oscar who answered all of our questions and provided pertinent details regarding the appropriate size of the system based on historical electricity use, expected billing changes, solar technology, and related tax credits. The Magic Sun installation team was courteous and professional. They explained the work being performed, finished within the described timeframe, and even painted some of the electric conduit to blend in with the exterior walls. Overall, this was an excellent experience working with Magic Sun. I will definitely be reaching out to them in the future if more panels are needed.

  I bought a house with solar already installed by Magic Sun. I had a bunch of questions about how it worked, etc. I called Magic Sun and they were really helpful. Helped me set up the cloud account and ensure everything was working correctly. Even came out to walk me through things, free of charge.

  After a year or so of research, we went with Magic Sun Solar as they seemed to be the best. A score of 5 stars is hard to beat. Our system was installed and up working in one day. Neil Hurlock was great and walked us through everything . At the same time as we installed this system, we also installed an electric heat pump hot water heater so the drop in our SMUD wasn't as dramatic as other people's, but our PG&E gas bill dropped to offset it.

  I have a spreadsheet of over a dozen companies I talked to. It's confusing at first as there's a lot of different products & technologies. I got educated about panels and inverters from different salespeople. Oscar was fantastic to work with & I looked at other local jobs they did. Magic Sun is clean and tidy where as other's neighbors have pipes and wires in ugly configurations. I'm happy with our clean look. Electric bill has dropped from about $500 in the summer to about $8/month. This year we added a few more panels as we are getting an electric car soon. Magic Sun installers were done in a few hours & didn't even shut off the power. Highly recommended!

  I cannot recommend this company enough. I worked with Neil and he was great the whole way through. Explained everything multiple times and was super super thorough. I was very indecisive in the beginning, but he was very patient and never tried to sell me on anything. I am sure he was working in my best interest which is hard to say these days. If you are looking for solar panels, or even just wanted to learn if they would be good for you, don't hesitate with this company.

  I was looking for help with an older system because the inverter had failed. Magic Sun was one of 3 companies I called. They had the lowest cost per hour but they also said they would need to take apart my panels, which I knew was not necessary. It also took 4 days and 5 e-mails for Chad to tell me that I wasn't really worth their time. Compare this to Capital City Solar, who was super responsive, gathered all the necessary information, and provided me a quote in less than 24 hours.

  I tried using two different third party middlemen to help me get solar panels in by the end of the year. After doing hours of research I didnt like what they were offering. I found Magic Sun through Yelp and they responded quickly and came to my house for a quick inspection. Oscar was very confident in his product and I was very hesitant at first but after comparing all other offers this was a no brainer. Top of the line panels with a local installer was the main decision factor. But what I got after I signed I didnt expect and that was first class customer service. I called Oscar a dozen times and he always picks up and thoroughly answers my questions. Even after they are installed. My panels look great and I can see how much power they generate at any given moment with the app. Im glad I went with Yelp instead of a middleman. Thank you to Yelp and Magic Sun!

  I got there name from internet and it had five stars so....Called and Neil came out and give me a bid and a contract. I had 30 days to sign the contract, but didn't because I had to have the roofing replaced and didn't want to commit to something until I was ready to go. After I got the roof replaced I called or emailed and told them I was ready to go, but needed a new contract because the other one had expired. Neal sent me another one, but as the cost of equipment had gone up, the bottom line had gone DOWN $4000. This blew me away as I was already to sign the amount from the first one and wouldn't have known the difference if I had. I was and am SO IMPRESSED with their honesty. They came by a few weeks later, installed in a day, and last month, my first PGE bill was a CREDIT of $152.00. Formerly it had been about $270. These guys are great to do business with and honest. Particularly nice to do business was the lady who worked in the office, I am sorry I don't remember her name. I also don't know how Neil/Neal spells his name so used both....

  GREAT JOB, GREAT CREW! Adlai (the salesman) did a great job explaining my options, Jim, Caleb, and Dan (the installers/electricians) showed up on time and had me up and running in eight hours. My system had to be installed on two different buildings, requiring a new sub panel install, re-routing of sub panel feed, and an underground connection to the main panel. Quick and clean, now I just sit and watch the meter go backwards! Thanks guys, and yes would recommend them!

  I had considered solar and talked to a few companies in the past and the return on investment just didn't make sense. I then met Oscar at Magic Sun Solar through a friend who was also looking at Solar. Oscar provided a number of different options that offset or completely covered the cost of my PG&E bill. In July 2012 I decided on a configuration with a goal of covering the total PG&E bill and after being installed for over a year I have achieved a 90% savings against my PG&E bill. Magic Sun's estimated saving were fair and very close to the outcome that I am now achieving.
