  When I started looking for solar, there were so many companies that it was really hard, to be honest Palomar was in the bottom of my list, but after meeting with my sales Phil and how he explained everything I felt really comfortable. Weeks later they gave me a date to install, they showed up early I the morning and where done by 3 pm with everything I was amazed with the quality and cleanness of work they performed. Palomar is the way to go is you want quality, good prices and professionalism.

  Palomar Solar and Roofing provided me nothing but first-rate service on the installation of my Solar. They are without a doubt the best Solar and Roofing Company around. They were very informative and whenever I had questions, they provided them to me right away I would like to give thanks to Phil Gerbracht, Amber Alverez, and Courtney Wilde who were always available when I had questions.   TL;DR: I love my solar. Experience with Palomar was outstanding. Adam, office staff, and crew were excellent. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Don’t entertain those door-to-door guys; call Palomar.

  We have an Enphase solar panel system that was installed in 2013 by a company that not longer exists. For a variety of reasons we wished to install battery backup by Enphase to ensure that it is compatible with our system, which has performed flawlessly for 9 years. Checking the Enphase website, Palomar Solar was listed one of the largest Enphase installer in San Diego county, therefore we contacted them. The process has been flawless but lengthy, which I understand is primarily due to permitting delays by our city.

  Palomar Solar has been incredibly outstanding since our initial contact with them. Initially, we spoke with Erik Zetmeir, energy consultant, who evaluated our prior year energy use and then formulated a proposal based on our useage. While Palomar was obtaining the permits from the city, their customer service kept us informed of the progress. Once obtained, the installation crew was at our home within a week and installed 26 panels in two days. The process was fast, efficient and competitively priced.

  I choose to have Palomar Solar install my 26 panels based on a recommendation from my friend’s neighbor who recently got their panels installed with them. I also made my decision based on their online reviews, BBB status, and the support of the local TV station. After my first phone contact with Tracy, I saw her in-house presentation in which we figured out the number and types of solar panel needed. Today, my panels are up on my roof. The entire job took 1.5 days and the very next day, the panels were inspected for quality assurance. The gentlemen that installed the panels were very professional and efficient.

  I just had a 6.3DC kWh system installed with micro inverters which offer per panel monitoring . I interviewed a couple reputable local companies and though I thought both would do a good job I choose PS . I liked the way they offered the micro inverter technology upfront . Dealing with the sales dept: Adam & Sid , office : Celina , roofing: George and electrical: Jose & Anthony they were all professional, pleasant ,kept me well informed and completed the job prior to their estimate. I also liked the fact that they do both the roofing and the solar portion, in house , it avoids finger pointing should there be an issue down the road .

  Everything done by Palomar Solar was excellent. The installation and customer service was exceptional. The owner was on site daily to inspect and make changes as needed; great hands-on service. Palomar Solar was recommended by friends that had used them in their solar installation. I contacted Adam after already signing a contract with a competitor. He was EXTREMELY helpful in showing me that the salesman for the other company wasn't licensed in the state nor with the company he was representing.

  Awesome experience with this company, start to finish. Sales patiently answered all our questions and gave us the all information we needed to make the right decision. Once we made the commitment to go with Palomar the process was smooth and surprisingly easy. The support staff kept us in the loop throughout the project, the installation was clean and professional and today are panels are rocking!   What is there not to say about Palomar Solar. We were the first years recipients of Palomar Solars give away at the Miramar Air Show. The owners and staff that work there are the definition of professionalism. Their dedication to supporting our military is amazing. We will turn on the panels early next week after SDG&E inspects it. Between Tracy's non aggressive approach, the companies superb customer service and competitive and realistic rates, I have to say that the company's process is the most streamlined I have ever seen. I am 100% happy that we choose Palomar Solar. Their SOP is very impressive. I am a business owner and I give this company 5 stars and an A+.

  6 months post installation, and we LOVE our solar, 28 LG panels in 2 arrays. It is very productive, we typically produce much more than we use. The true test was last month, our highest consumption. My husband ran both units practically constantly, and we barely used more than we generated. The prior months, we produced much more than we used. The monitoring system is great, and every now and again when I have a question, I still get amazing customer service from Palomar Solar. If you are considering solar in San Diego, please make it a stress free process for yourself and call this company!

  We have had our solar system for about 6-7 months. My spouse and I are very grateful for our solar system. We no longer have an electric bill! Palomar Solar not only gave us the best bid but also worked with us far beyond any solar company would. They were timely, professional, and knowledgeable. Erik was so patient with us in returning all of our phone calls and answering our questions. Furthermore, their technology and monitoring system is far superior than competitors.   Got my 31 panels installed 3 months ago for 35K. Ken was the sales rep. From start to finish it took about 5 weeks. Ken was great with me. The installers were great except for one of them peed by my trash dumpster. The HERO process was easy. My panels work fine. No problems to date. I referred Palomar Solar to a friend and was very disappointed in the initial treatment of him. Adam Rizzo personally took care of the situation and offered my friend a great deal.

  My experience with Palomar solar was nothing short of perfect. After dealing with a few solar companies it was refreshing to deal with a company that was honest and wasn't pushing me into something that wasn't the best option for me. From the system design to financing/leasing options they took the time to explain the pros and cons of every detail. Once we decided on a system That Was right for me and my needs I sat back and they handled everything. There was constant communication form them keeping me in the loop along the way. The installers showed up on time as scheduled, worked clean, kept the work area clean and even explained what they were doing and why. I never once felt uncomfortable with any part of the entire process. I came say enough good about them and if you're in the market for solar you would be doing yourself an injustice by not talking with Andy and the team at Palomar solar.

  I did my homework on solar systems and solar companies. I contacted the top five solar companies. Surprisingly, Palomar was the only company that came to my house and gave me a presentation. Three companies gave me a quote by email and one told me a sales rep would call me. He never called me. Tracy came to the house and was great. If I ever had any questions during the processes, she was very easy to get a hold of. She did not pressure us and was never pushy. Sullivan Only uses string inverters and will bad mouth micro inverters. I wanted micro inverters. My neighbor used Baker Electric and convinced us to give them another chance. Both Palomar and Baker use LG Panels and Enphase inverters. Enphase has online monitoring for your panels. With Baker you have to pay a couple of hundred bucks up front for the monitoring and keep renewing every 5yrs for about $500. With Palomar the monitoring is free for the life of your system. The system has a 25yr warranty. Baker will charge you labor after 10yrs to replace any parts under warranty. Palomar has 25yr warranty on parts & labor.

  So this is the first Yelp review I have done but I felt the need to give credit to this company. I just finished having my 5.4kw solar system turned on by SDG&E and I couldn't be happier. I did my research when picking a solar company and met with several local companies as well as big non-local companies. I had a friend that raved about Palomar so I decided to meet with them and I was very impressed. They did a great presentation and out of all the companies I felt they were the most willing to go above and beyond.

  After researching Solar for my home for several months I decided to go with Palomar Solar because they are a company that has the old fashioned values of workmanship and quality. I dealt with Adam Rizzo who was their leading sales person. He asked if I had researched solar and I mentioned I had looked into 5-6 companies that were national as well as local. Because I had done the research he went on to make sure I knew what I was getting into and detailed all the specifics that I had researched as well as added new information. He invited me to the company headquarters in Escondido to view how the process works and gave me a tour of recent Palomar Solar installations. None of the other companies went that far.

  I had gotten several bids from other solar companies before meeting with Adam, and knew I wanted to go with Palomar Solar from the minute I meant him..... He was very personable and treated me with respect and honesty. Palomar Solar wasn't the cheapest bid, but they were the only company that treated me like a person and not just as a sale.... Adam knows his stuff and it showed, he explained every aspect of the solar process and answered all my questions and there were a lot. They did a great job on the install and I'm very help with my system.... I HIGHLY recommend Palomar Solar...

  These guys were great. Not one problem at all with installation, clean up and efficiency of workers. Also, no problems with our tile roof, they broke no tiles. This is a company that specializes in service and transparency; they obviously care about their reputation. No salesman selling jobs for a large company with unskilled workers. They also got the installation approved through our home owner's association demonstrating that they care enough to handhold through the little details.

  I was a bit apprehensive, but I just got my first SDG&E bill. I average $300 per month, the bill was $5.10 estimated, 30 days times $.17. I fully expect that my "True Up Bill" 11 months from now will be zero. Great investment and an extremely professional install. I would not change a thing, their communication was outstanding before and after installation.

  I called Palomar Solar based on the other reviews here, and was very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. I had a solar system installed by another company (which has been a total nightmare), and wanted them to look over the system to identify some of the issues. This is not where they make their bread and butter, because we already have a system, but were really helpful anyway. Andy and Anthony stopped by the same morning I called, and spent quite a while letting me pick their brains about why our energy usage spiked after having solar installed. The company that put in the system just keeps accusing me of secretly turning my heater up to 90 degrees. Of course they never acknowledged that the spike happened immediately after they installed the system. Real helpful, right? Palomar Solar is polar opposite of that company, even offering to look at my previous bills and run the numbers to see if they could pinpoint exactly what as going on. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely go with this company. They will have your best interests in mind, not their own pocket book.

  After lots of research and meeting with multiple companies, we choose Palomar solar for our 5.8 kWh system. We went with Palomar because they offered us the best technology at a competitive price and, most importantly, had wonderful reviews from friends who had used them. Adam was, and still is, always available to answer our numerous questions and to make sure we would be happy with the project by going over all the details before installation began. After several bad experiences with contractors, I was very pleased that Palomar only asked for $1000 down with the rest to paid after the system had passed inspection and was functioning. The installation process was very smooth. It took three days, just as promised. The conduits were painted to match my ceiling tiles and terracotta. Everything was cleaned at the end of each day. Overall, I give Palomar Solar my highest recommendation. They did exactly what they said they would and now my meter is running backward!

  We decided to have Palomar Solar install our new solar system on our remodeled house as they got good reviews on Yelp and we liked the technology they were selling (microinverters). Now I know why they got such great reviews. I bombarded poor Adam with questions before I made my final decision and he was happy to answer them even at crazy hours. They also were the only ones willing to do the install during my remodel so they could better hide the conduit. All the other companies wanted me to call them when I was done so they could install their ugly conduit on the outside rather than running it through the attic space (why???). Bottom line is that you would have a hard time finding a nicer bunch of guys to install your system and they are still happy to answer my emails even though the system has been up and running or over 2 months. I can recommend these guys without hesitation.

  Short version: they do a fantastic job. They're not the cheapest, but you will get what you pay for. You should definitely look at Palomar Solar if you're considering solar for your home or business. Longer version: When we decided to take the plunge on solar, I had already done the research on the technology and pretty much knew what I wanted. The big question mark was the installer, which are a dime a dozen these days. I did not want to go with a hack job that was going to leave my tile roof in shatters, use poor quality wiring, etc. Palomar Solar already had a number of positive reviews and, when I spoke to them, I understood why. They use and recommend the products that I had already selected through my own research. (Siliken panels and enphase microinverters) They also had a large portfolio of installed projects that was impressive and spoke to their experience in the field.
