Everything from the Introduction through the Installation and Operational phases were all 5 STAR quality! The Solar Team members were very friendly and professional and answered all our questions in a manner that I did not possess an electrical engineering degree but still had an understanding of the terminology.

If I had written a review when our panels were installed in 2011 I would have said the same as this reviewer "SolarCraft is one of the best run companies I have ever had the pleasure to work with...the project could not have gone more smoothly." A few years later, we had edge guards installed to protect from pigeons roosting. After a small issue was quickly resolved, the manager offered me a free panel cleaning. Fast forward to 2020 when we needed a panel cleaning; the manager had moved on and SolarCraft was no longer doing cleanings. To honor the offer, they hired an outside cleaning company that did a great job. THAT is excellent customer service, 9 years later!

Knowledgeable, easy to work with, responsive to questions or concerns, and professional installation of solar panels and backup batteries.

I had no idea how to go about choosing a Solar company, but luckily I have a close friend who's a professional builder, he knew exactly how to do all the upfront research, he chose 3 companies to bid, he was a tough customer, and to him SolarCraft was the clear winner. Then I watched as his project went off without a hitch, and I simply followed his lead. Sort of like being on a crowded highway, when suddenly an ambulance with sirens blaring flies past you, you get in the lane behind it, and suddenly it's all smooth sailing for you, too. The initial meeting (with SolarCraft's Jon O'Day) went very well, with Jon making it easily understandable (even for me) what I needed--and didn't need--to keep the overall price in line, while delivering the ideal system for our specific needs. And all the way along, both the installation team and the behind-the-scenes office crew were equally professional, and every person I've met there has been a pleasure to work with. To make a long story short, my system's up and running now, the PG&E website shows that it's doing exactly what I'd hoped (essentially wiping out my electricity costs), I can monitor and control everything from SolarCraft's easy to use mobile app, and now---I know exactly how to go about choosing a Solar company.

SolarCraft is one of the best run companies I have ever had the pleasure with which to deal. Beginning with a $1,000 deposit on August 20, 2021, the project could not have gone more smoothly. I was immediately sent "What to Expect When Going Solar", a step-by-step description of the entire installation and it went exactly as promised. On September 9thI received the final layout of the solar panels. On October 12th, the main electrical panel was upgraded for solar. On November 24th the solar panel installation took place. On December 9th the inspection by the town of Tiburon took place.

We had Solar Craft install a new solar system last summer, with a Tesla Powerwall battery. It's been fantastic seeing how much solar is now powering our house, *and* knowing we have backup power. We had our first test of it recently during a power outage, and were so pleased that all the systems we'd hoped would be backed up did work, including the refrigerator, router/wifi, two computers and the heating system, as well as the TV and landline phones, overhead lights in a few rooms, and several electrical outlets. It was great to have no major disruption during the outage. (We opted not to get a second Powerwall, which would provide 100% backup for all circuits, given the extra cost and usually short duration of outages.)

Reading the most recent review from Frank B, I wish I'd had a similar experience. Unfortunately, this was the most frustrating contracting experience I've had. I'll try and make it short and concise, but also include useful, actionable feedback that could be insightful for the company and other potential customers:

This is one of the most professional contracting teams I've ever worked with. From sales to provisioning, every step was handled with enthusiasm, skill, knowledge and a lot of customer empathy. Taylor, Craig and Grey enjoy their jobs and it shows in how they treat customers and challenges. No large-scale home improvement project is problem free. What distinguishes the Solar Craft crew is how they handle the problems.

People may not realize how important it is to chose the right solar company. You don't just need someone to put the system in, but that company better be there to stand behind their work.

We had 8 panels installed on our roof this summer. Solar craft calculated the number of panels needed to pay our annual electric bill, and even perhaps receive an annual check from PG+E on the anniversary of the date our system went active. There were no high pressure sales tactics, installation was timely and clean and representatives were eager to answer any questions. Their price was the lowest of three bids, and we have a lifetime warranty on the panels.

After spending more time that I want to admit researching the confusing array of solar options, I was thrilled to have made the choice of Solarcraft. Initially, I was compelled by the fact that their installers are Solarcraft employees and not contractors, they are local to the North Bay and that they are an employee owned company - everyone has skin in the game and it shows. After the project, I was then impressed with their thoroughness, simple explanations and quality of installation all without feeling that I was buying a used car. Pile on the fact that I have saved the equivalent of ~12k lbs of CO2 emissions and planted over 284 trees in 4 mos. by going solar? Kind of a no brainer.

Dealing with these folks is a constant struggle. They do not return phone calls and they are very slow to respond to warranty work - and by slow I means 3-5 weeks to get them to come out and then it is usually another 3-5 weeks to repair because they rarely have the correct parts with them and have to order. I don't get charged because it is warranty and presumably they are billing the manufacturer but the aggravation is not worth dealing with them. Maybe that is their objective.

I was very happy with the complete experience. I especially want to give recognition to Nick Paggi who was the project manager for my installation. There was a minor design issue which was more of an aesthetic issue and Nick made sure it got taken care of. It was one of those things that had no operational effect and would be considered very minor to most people and technically SolarCraft and no real obligation to correct it because I did agree to the design. At first I wondered if they (SolarCraft) would even do anything yet it got handled the very next time they were out to my home to complete the installation. I was really, really happy about that! I'm a small business owner myself and it's the little things that matter, those little extra things to make the customer happy go a long way. I also want to thank David Berry who was the sales rep, David was great to deal with and I never felt that I was being oversold or pressured in anyway. I felt that he truly wanted to sale me the correct, most efficient system for my home. It was pleasure doing business with SolarCraft and I would highly recommend them!

Solar Craft did a great job on our 9.6kw system. Chet and Avner and the crew were fantastic to work with. It is so fun to see the PG&E meter spinning the opposite way! Everything was explained thoroughly, and the price was competitive. Other companies were much higher and quoted us a smaller system. Best of all, Solar Craft designed the system so we can't even see the panels on our roof. A terrific experience overall. We were pleased to deal with a Marin company with three decades experience in the business. We highly recommend.

We had an excellent experience with Solarcraft. They installed our solar electric system in a timely manner at exactly the cost they quoted (which was also the least expensive of several vendors that supplied bids). They took care of all the paperwork for PG&E and the state rebate. But, by far the most impressive was our experience with the electrician, Reed, that was assigned to troubleshoot a problem with our electrical box that occurred immediately after installation. He was extremely competent, professional, responsive and diligent in trying to determine what was wrong since the problem started at the same time the solar panels were installed. He truly went the 'extra mile' to make sure we were satisfied (and it ended up being an unusual issue that was NOT even a result of the solar installation). I would highly recommend Solarcraft.
