  JP and his crew were able to help me out with solar installation at my house (27th ave & Lawton) in the SF sunset neighborhood. The short of it is that if I were to do it all over again, I'd still work with JP. He was responsive and very much context-sensitive to what I was trying to do. We were able to work together and come up with a solution that worked for me.

  It's not easy to find a good company when all you can do is compare Yelp reviews. I have reached out to 10 different Solar installers, and there were a few things that were important to me - How quickly they reply (customer service), how easy it is to understand their offering and installation timeline (setting the right expectations), and, of course, pricing.

  If you are considering solar, I highly recommend Sutro Power. JP and his team were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and really took the time to explain the entire process, costs, and benefits of going solar. It is rare that I come across professionals that are not only masters in their trade, but trustworthy, responsive, and easy to work with.

  We just finished up installation of a 3kW residential solar system with Sutro Power. The team was great to work with and got everything installed in two days. We got our permission to operate in about a month from PG&E, and the Sutro Power team was out the next week to commission our system.

  Sutro Power made getting solar a positive and seamless experience. My experience starting with solar actually didn't start with Sutro Power. I signed up through a popular solar panel company who assigned me to local solar installation company. The sales guy talked me into signing a contract. They never followed up, made false promises and based off my roof type, decided to not install. This happened after 3 months of wasted time.

  Interfaced with a half dozen solar installers trying to get a quote for installing a residential roof solar system. JP and his team were the best to interact with by far. Amazing customer service, informed, straight shooters, and fairly priced. Would recommend my mother to them.

  The folks at Sutro Power are hands-down the best contractors I've ever worked with. Their intentional over-communication was especially always appreciated, and when supply chain issues struck, they checked in with me frequently to ensure the materials they used met my specific needs and desires. Their prices were always competitive, they worked with me on a video call to finalize the design and layout after giving me over half a dozen initial design options, and the installation work was precise, clean, and thorough. I would recommend them with no reservations to anyone interested in installing rooftop solar.

  We found Sutro Power from the GoSolarSF certified installer list. They stood out because they were a local small business. They didn't have many reviews at the time we reached out so naturally we were a bit cautious. We don't usually try a new restaurant without checking reviews first so the idea of spending thousands on solar definitely made us nervous. Even though the company is young, the management and the install team has worked many many years with another well-known solar company.

  JP and his team at Sutro Power sold and installed my modest 4kW system in the Richmond district when they worked at another company (in 2019). While at that company, JP was a very responsive consultant and answered my countless questions with great patience and detail. The installation went well enough for me to recommend his team to my parents, who were also looking for a PV system. Midway through my parents' permitting process (prior to installation), JP informed me and the core members of that team were leaving and forming their own company, Sutro Power. He told me to contact him with any questions even though he was no longer affiliated with his old company.

  Great group of young, energetic, smart guys. They installed my solar quickly and knowledgably. They hid all the wires in my attic so I did not have to have conduit on the side of my house. They also connected me to Enphase which allows me to check on the solar output any time I wish. Highly recommend them. I tried using Tesla but the experience quickly became a nightmare. Once I settled on Sutro Power I never looked back.
