  My project with SolarUnion went so well that I was delighted to recommend them to neighbors and friends. The back office kept me informed every step of the way: they were very clear on what SolarUnion needed on my end and the timing of their project. The workers who came were friendly, fast and efficient. I had a sloped roof and they were amazing moving the panels to the roof and attaching them beautifully - all in a single day's time. It's important to me that we all do our part to help the environment and putting solar on your roof is a major step.   2020 - First project was for them to place 20+ solar panels on our brand new roof. It went smoothly with absolutely no issues. They were communicative and their prices were very competitive. The crew members arrived on time and the project was on schedule.

  We wanted to install 6kW solar panels and battery backup. SolarUnion wasn't the cheapest bid but the sales rep, Carlos, outlined our various options (panel vendors, battery sizes, etc) in a straightforward manner that I really appreciated.   Solar Union did a great job for us. I did a lot of research and got multiple bids through Energy Sage. Nearly every company backed off with the complexities of our installation with a flat roof encumbered with multiple exhausts on top of a 3-level townhouse. Not Solar Union that patiently looked at my drawings to make some initial assessments and designs for my review. The final system design optimized solar production while respecting the construction code. They took care of all permits and inspections with the city and PG&E and were amenable to the HOA demands.

  After another period of no news, there were a few weeks of back-and-forth requests being made, including trimming back 3' of hedging near where the new panel would go and the tree next to it. The next week a call the evening before a contractor was scheduled to remove the downspout and flatten the ground, followed a few days later by another contractor visit because "PGE wants a concrete pad". So at 8am the next morning they were hammer-drilling bolts into the concrete retaining wall to build forms for the concrete next to my bedroom window, and re-routed the downspout they had removed. Followed the next week by another visit because they now needed 4' of bush removal and concrete pad, and another week and finally "PGE signoff" with a promise to schedule the work sometime before the end of the week. That was last week. I received an invoice (the very first one), but still have no idea if/when anyone is going to finish this job, and with the holidays happening now, will it be done in time to claim tax credits?? This has gone on for more than a year now!

  There are lots of solar providers in our area. I did several hours of research to determine which companies I felt were best for me. After soliciting bids and talking to representatives I choose SolarUnion and could not be more satisfied. They offer excellent service, competitive pricing, knowledgable advice, quick customer service and really walked me through it step by step. They acknowledged any delay and explained exactly what and when to expect. All permits, inspections, and any other bureaucratic paperwork was handled flawlessly. I followed several of their suggestions including one to upgrade my very old gas heater to a heat pump, which runs on 220v, and we had cooling for the first time ever and now heat.   I'd say overall, I had a 5 star experience getting my solar panels installed with SolarUnion. Despite COVID delays and SF city inspection back and forth, I think they were generally organized and I knew what was going on the in project. And my solar panels have been working flawlessly for several months without issue and should pay themselves off in the expected timeframe.

  Solar made easy! I really appreciate the attention to detail that Solar Union provides. The sales pitch is hard to beat. they guarantee absolutely everything. They answered all of my questions and kept me informed at every step. There was a small delay between approval by the city and getting the system installed, but it doesn't matter in the long run. Itzel was the project manager and she did a great job and answered all of my questions. The plans she presented were clear and easy to understand. The crew that installed the system were knowledgeable and friendly. I was amazed at how quickly the system was installed. The inspection went off without a hitch and PG&E approval came a few days later.

  I sought multiple bids for a home solar power system. Solar Union offered several things that set them apart. First, my contact with Solar Union, Jim, convinced me that they would be able to install the system on a tile roof without damaging the roof. Then they backed it up with a 25-year warranty. Second, they offered high-quality panels and inverter. Third, the company is Diamond certified. Given these three things, and a very competitive price, I chose Solar Union for the project. The initial inspection and subsequent installation went well; the crew worked hard and finished the install in a day and my roof was not damaged. Solar Union then coordinated with the local county inspector and PGE to get my system connected to the grid. Throughout the process, communication (primarily with Dianne) was both clear and timely. We are now generating significant electricity with a high-quality system that is backed up by solid warranties. I recommend Solar Union without reservation!

  Ivan the CEO of solar union reach out to me few times to apologized with the unpleasant experiences I had on the inspection. He apologized for the confusion and mistake his team made and promised the same issue will not happen again in the future. I appreciated he reach out to me right after he notice the incident and he straighten out the issue. I can tell he is really care about his customer and want to build a good and long term customer relationship. Few days after Jim the customer services representative also stop by at my house with his company apologize and make a final check on my solar system to make sure everything is good and working in good condition. On 6/23/17 I passed PG&E and city inspection and received confirmation from PG&E ,my electricity is fully operate on solar now. The numbers of solar electricity my panels produced everyday is amaze me. I am happy I chosen solar union for my home solar project and will refer solar union to others. Once again thanks Ivan and Jim help me on my solar project.

  The panels are great, they are extremely responsive to my questions, they were willing to work with me and still return my calls quickly after getting my money. However the process took 4 months and required several nasty emails on my part to get things done. Long review: I was looking to have solar panels and an electric car charger installed last year before my second daughter was born in October, but after we sold a condo and got the cash for the installation. After getting some quotes Solar Union had the best price, was the most attentive was willing to work with my timeline and alternative payment schedule, which was awesome.
