We had a great experience with Poco Solar! I had three estimates for solar heating for our pool and Poco really stood out. They not only had the best price by close to 1K, but had a very pleasant low-key sales approach. They install high quality Fafco products that have an excellent warranty. Greg was very helpful in answering all my questions. Poco managed to squeeze us in a week after we placed our order, which meant we could start enjoying our pool at the beginning of summer. The installation team was great and finished in one morning. Our pool is now getting to 88 degrees and my daughters 5 and 3 are thrilled! Highly recommend if you are looking for pool solar!

We had a very good experience with Poco Solar Energy, start to finish. We actually talked with Vern two years prior to our making the decision to go with solar. He was knowledgeable, informative and did not give us a hard sales pitch. He understood when we told him in 2012 that we weren't ready to make the commitment. In 2014, with our electric bills soaring, we were ready and called him again. He came to the house and we signed on for the conversion to solar. Our experience throughout the process with Poco was professional, patient and thorough. The installers were punctual and provided us with up to the minute communication. Lucas went out of his way to keep us in the loop. We are now up and running with our system and are delighted with our savings in electricity usage and billing. Thank you to everyone at Poco.

I wouldn't recommend POCO now that I have tried to use them out of their warranty time. I wanted a solar company that would be around so if I had problems, they would be there to help. After 3 short years, we seemed to be having a leak in our solar pipes up on the roof. My husband happened to be looking at our 2nd story roof in hot sunny summer and saw water near a pool solar pipe joint (we ordinarily wouldn't be looking up there, it might have been there for a long time). It's out of warranty. I thought 3 years is kind of soon to be having leaks, even a small leak, so maybe there was a small leak from the install and we didn't know/see. They wouldn't come out to inspect it without charging their minimum $135 house fee (for 15min of work, additional work-time was billed at some high rate that I've now forgotten). Jonathan said the technician might waive the fee if he determined it was POCO's fault, but not otherwise, and he couldn't give a price estimate for fixing the problem, I'd have to pay the $135 to find out how much POCO would charge to fix the problem. My husband asked the technician what would be considered POCO's fault, and he said if there was no glue on the joint whatsoever. That wasn't going to happen, otherwise the system would have catastrophically failed upon install. Anyway, we just got our pool maintenance person to fix it, and he did for 1/2 the price. He said that the pipe he took out was Section 20 pipe, which is very unusual since everyone uses Section 40 pipe. Of course Section 20 pipe is cheaper and inferior. I was livid and was thinking about all the other ways they could have used inferior products for our install. But it's 4 years now, so it's way out of warranty, and I'm tired of trying to get them to return emails or calls. Also, at this point I don't trust the work they do. They are very interested in getting you to buy their products, and they will service your problems during the short 1yr or so warranty period. But after that, you are less than nothing to them, and they really don't want to bother with you without making it extremely (financially) worth their while.

Install went fairly well but service has not been good on my 3.5-year-old solar pool heating system. When the system was 3 years old, it started cycling on and off in 3-minute increments and the result was that the pool would not get up to temperature. Someone from Poco came and replaced a sensor but the problem continued, so we didn't get much use out of our pool last year. Now I have pool water leaking from the system onto my roof, eating through my gutters and killing the grass in my yard. When I called Poco to get someone to come repair the system, I was told by the receptionist that it would take 4 weeks for a repair person to come. When I told the customer service manager that I was unsatisfied with that timeframe and that I planned to write a review on Yelp about my experience, he said he would put me on the "move up" list to get faster service. It sounds like they are not staffed appropriately to handle repairs on existing systems AND do new installs in the spring. If I were to do it over, I would look for a company with a more consistent service record. These solar pool systems seem prone to issues, so better to choose a company that is committed to prompt, effective service.

I found the service at POCO Solar outstanding. The salesperson Jack reviewed our concerns in detail and addressed each one of them professionally. He provided a competitive price and honored this throughout the process of installing solar for our pool. They were extremely thorough and provide a high quality product and excellent service. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of installing solar.
